There is so much more to having a menstrual cycle than simply managing periods, and it is so important that children have a place to learn about all the changes, super powers and self-care needs they will experience as they reach puberty in an holistic empowering way.
The messages children receive about their body, their periods and what it means to grow up are extremely powerful, so why not take the chance to ensure your child gets accurate information and is supported in a healthy, empowering way so she feels ready to embrace her changes, her power and her body.
Covering self-care, and teaching children how to get the best out of their superpowers as they begins their menstrual cycle, First Moon Circles are doing period education differently. Our circles are proving a fun and enjoyable way for girls and children who have or will have periods to learn, play, and feel supported at a pivotal time in their lives.

The final 90 minutes is a mother-daughter circle focusing on bonding and having special time together, which will set up a powerful foundation going into the teen years.
Teaching of cycle self-care to mothers and daughters so you can both talk about and do this together at home as a shared experience.
Creating a ‘first moon bracelet’ to represent and remind of the four seasons of the menstrual cycle
Wisdom and well-wishes shared from mothers to children in the circle
Tea and light refreshment of cycle-nourishing foods
These sessions are ideal for girls aged 9-12 before they begin their periods, but if they have started they will get so much out of learning all the things they have missed out on so far.
Having an inclusive and safety-first approach I welcome children from all backgrounds and also children who will have periods but might not identify with or feel comfortable as a ‘girl’ or the idea of ‘becoming a woman’ including non-binary and trans children who will or do menstruate. I believe everyone who will have a period needs to understand how their body works. If you would like your child to be able to come but aren’t sure of this is for them please contact me so we can have a chat about your circumstances.
Once you book your child to attend, I’ll send you some information to prepare you, the parent/guardian, ahead of the day, as well as to help you prepare your child for what to expect.
I’ll also share guidance with you on how to prepare your positive guidance that you want to share with the group on the day, which in turn will support you to keep this open conversation going at home. (If you don’t wish to say anything, I understand, and see you – however I do encourage you to acknowledge that by sharing some words you are healing your own relationship to your cycle, and breaking the pattern for your child. I am available for support sessions prior to the First Moon Circle, please email me about this).

Charlotte witnesses the power of celebrating and honouring the rites of passages, and coaching people to reclaim their menstrual cycle as something magical and powerful – and to learn to live in flow with their natural cycles and rhythms instead of flighting against it to survive in a masculine world.
Did you know First Moon Circles are available for you to book as a private event just for your daughter and her friends? This way, the group explores the topics together, ensuring they have a strengthened friendship and each other’s ongoing support for when they need it. Suitable for girls aged 9-16 and for a minimum of four girls per private event. If you’re interested in booking a private First Moon Circle, please contact Charlotte on charlotte@charlottepointeaux.com
