Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year when the light is fully present. It’s the peak of the solar cycle just before the days begin to shorten again – this is called the Litha sabbat (festival) on the ancient calendar wheel, and is also known as Midsummer. A perfect time for delicious dreaming!
Litha was, and still is for those who celebrate it, a time of festivity. A decadent time of abundance, communities would gather for a fire festival celebrating all that is in plentiful supply with dancing, feasting and often jumping through a bonfire for luck! (We won’t be doing that though!). I’m thinking of this as a lush opportunity for a pleasure circle!
As Litha falls at Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere, when the kids are on holidays and life is super busy with a lot to organise and places to be, I think its very important that we carve out decadent time devoted just to US. To fill our cups, come home to ourselves, love and nourish each other and just connect inwards, to balance all the outward energy. This is what this circle is about.
Presence. Pleasure. Being.
Leaning into celebrating ourselves.
Sharing, giving and receiving to and for ourselves.
this circle is in devotion to enjoying the fullness, abundance and joy of the season and exploring pleasure portals available to us through our body’s wisdom, kindred sisterhood and seasonal magick.
