The Problem With Cycle Syncing and The Myth Of A Perfect Cycle
Cycle syncing is an amazing concept coined by Alisa Vitti that invites us to understand how our cycle shifts and changes, how we have different energies, qualities, strengths and vulnerabilities across the phases, and then shows us how we can align the tasks of our lives to best harness and flow with those energies. I adore this concept and share it widely with clients and in my courses and experiences because it stops us from living in a linear way and instead teaches us how to embrace the way we aren’t the same each day.
However I’m also really starting to notice a lot of people struggling to cycle sync because when someone does have have an archetypal 28-day menstrual cycle that’s the same every month: regular, predictable, and experienced just as the books say it should be, it can leave you feeling not good enough. Yes, having shame about not having a 28-day cycle is becoming a real thing and I really want to offer a new way of cycle syncing that invites you to embrace and embody your own unique cycle experience, instead of finding another way of not being the ideal human.
In this solo episode I bring the fire, bust some myths, and share why I believe it can actually be really powerful to show up in our most tender moments of our cycle, instead of locking ourselves away for half the cycle, so we can normalise and create a new relationship to the dark feminine.
I talk about
What the myth of a 28-day perfect cycle is and why its causing harm to try to be something you’re not,
How we can make cycle-syncing logic our own to suit our own unique cycle,
How to create balance if you have no rest time when you bleed, and how it isn’t all doom and gloom from therein,
Why we need to have a posse around us who gets it, is here for the convo, can listen, support and help you keep living cyclically when the world around us constantly pushes us to tune out and override ourselves.
Why I created my new 4 month group experience Cycle Sorcery: and how it’s a powerful container for people who want to honour their cycle but on their own terms!

Coming of Age Wisdom for Mothers and Daughters with Arahni Lion and Jo Rockendorfer
imagine a world where mothers were given sacred space to welcome their daughters intentionally into their coming of age rite of passage. and where girls were welcomed into circle with other mothers and daughters to find deep wisdom, loving support and a chance to experience true sisterhood all before their 13th birthday. there is a place on earth: it’s called the seeding wisdom journey held annually in the illawarra (nsw) by wise women arahni lion and jo rockendorfer. If you’ve ever wished you were more supported, more seen and heard, more understood and respected in your own maiden years, this is a truly special way of healing that part of you, and to give your child the best start to a conscious, empowered, embodied and connected womanhood. I know that when my daughters are of age, we will be taking the journey together, one by one.
Arahni and Jo share the story of why and how they created this potent experience, what happens within the journey, and why this kind of initiatory journey is needed now, more than ever.
Intuition: When to Say No and Love Yourself First
Did you know that on average, Australian females experience between 450-500 periods in her lifetime, with the average cycle spanning between 21-35 days, and the average bleed lasting between 2-7 days?
Once we begin menstruating (at menarche – pronounced “men-ar-kee”) which occurs anywhere these days between roughly the ages of 8-15, and commonly around ages 12-13, we begin our monthly bleed (menstrual cycle) until we reach menopause which occurs approximately at the age of 50 (although again, this can occur much earlier or later as it is do individual).
After menarche our periods will be irregular for most of our teen years until the rhythm is established and our hormones settle into their natural, beautiful cycle. You might notice that some months you bleed for longer, or more heavily than other times, or that your cycle isn’t the same length each time. This is all ok – everyone’s cycle is different.
